Mediaplayer 9 doesn't play .wmv files

That's right, the video flickers, with some files there
is no video, just sound. On the same computer,
Mediaplayer 6.4 plays all .wmv files perfectly.
Mediaplayer (ver whatever) did too until I upgraded it to
ver 9

I have had the same problem and have asked but I still
can't find anything to fix it. I have tried to email
microsoft too and they havent sent anything back yet. If
I find anythig I will let you know.

I dont know what exactly I did but I did 2 things and I
can watch video now. First I went to
http://windowsmedia.com/9series/download/download.asp
and downloaded mediaplayer 9 again and then I went to
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/launch/videos/videos-20.html
and downloaded a codec for mediaplayer 8 and now it
works. not sure what one did it but I can watch videos
now.
