Windows Movie Maker Convert TMP to WMV?

I have a problem with .tmp files. After i've captured 2 Hours of video,
in the final step when the .wmv file should be created, the sytem
crashed. Now I have all the .tmp - files, and it doesn't seem to be
possible to import them into the Movie Maker.

If I rename them to mpg and then open them in Windows Mediaplayer 11
they run to fast.

Is there a way to convert the .tmp files to correct .wmv?

Unfortunately not.
A couple months ago this same question was asked and I played around a bit
with different programs I have and I couldn't
find a way to save them meaning you will need to capture again AFAIK.
