Media Player skips audio cd

I use Windows Media Player 11 (11.0.5721.5230) on Windows XP Pro.
When inserting a audio CD, bought from store, Media Player opens but just
goes from track 1 to the last ans back to the first one wiithout playing
anything. If i click the Play button it does the same.
I have a LG GSA-H54N DVD-ROM Writer.

Does anyone have a solution?

Do i have to post this message in another group?

Media Player 11 is designed to prevent playing of copy protected audio discs
(It is illegal to describe them as Compact Discs). It allegedly can see
through copy protection circumvention schemes such as AnyDVD, but I haven't
personally verified that. WMP11 has much Digital Rights Management stuff in
it.

Junk WMP 11 and go back to WMP10 or WMP9. There is a Microoft knowledge
base article on how to go back. Just uninstalling WMP11 is not quite enough
(though it should be).
