media player running with black screen but with audio

i cant run any movie files on my media player
i don't get any ERROR just black screen with good audio
the "thumbnails" r o.k. and i can run the movies in MOVIE
MAKER 2 but not in any other media player/divx player and
etc...

My windows is a fresh XP install with sp1 and i updated
everything

Check View>Visualizations. Is "No Visualization" checkmarked ? If so,
unmark and try again. This is simplest fix. If problem still persists,
re-post; others may have answer.

Check View>Visualizations. Is "No Visualization" checkmarked ? If so,
