Media Center, XP Pro and 2000 Advanced Server and XBox 360

Background and computer info first:

1 Domain controller running 2k advanced server, domain name=MelSoft
1 XP Pro SP2 w/ all current updates machine participating in domain
1 MCE2005 w/ rollup2 and all updates
1 Xbox 360 w/ Media Center updates applied

Main problem is that the MCE machine and Xbox have "limited vision" of the
XP Pro machine. I say "limited vision" because of the following:

From MCE if I go to My Network Places and try to add a drive from the XP
machine I get an error "\\XPSDesktop is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this resource. Contact system admin... Logon Failure: the
user has not been granted the requested lgon type at this computer". However
if I use the dos Net use command using the ip address and drive share name
with \\melsoft guest as the user the drive maps and is fully accessible.
However it is still not able to be seen by the xbox 360. On the 360 I've
even tried setting the MCX1 account to use a bat file in a share called
netlogon (bat file using net use to map as above) on the MCE machine and it
still doesn't see the drive.

I have tried running Media Connect on the XP pro machine sharing the folders
with content and it shows the 360 and says it is "allowed" but the 360 does
not see the folders.

Both the MCE machine and the 360 can see all the shares on the Domain
Controller and content there can be accessed by both. The MCE machine after
mapping a drive from the XP machine can access the content via the share, but
the 360 doesn't see this share and can't access it. Neither can see folders
shared by the XP machine through media connect.

I've looked at the restrictanonymous setting on the XP registry and it is 0.

So how can I get the MCE machine to see the drives on the XP machine
"properly". I'm thinking if I can solve this the 360 will be able to see
everything also.

Here's another twist to the story, from the 360 media dashboard (ie - not in
Media Center) I can go to Music, select computers and the XPSDesktop is
listed and I can get the music and play it. The MCE machine and the Domain
Controller are not listed.

Here are the ipconfigs and browstats:

Thanks,

Robb,

Well, to start, you have at least 2 domains. For best results, all computers
should be in the same domain / workgroup (a computer running MCE 2005 can't join
a domain, but if you put it into a workgroup with name = the domain, your
browsing problems should be reduced).

Now, the problem "Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested
lgon type at this computer" is pretty well known. It's a problem with the
server (XP Pro computer).
