media Center 9 problems

when I play music on media center sometimes it will
distort the music and slow down and speed up and also
freezing the system . Is this a possible sound problem ?
I mean is it my Realtek AC97 program or media center
problem or is it my processor or motherboard , where do I
go from here ? Any help would be welcome !

Hello,

I had the same problem with Realtek and after I stopped
using it WMP played fine and the music didn't sound
disorted or speed up/down. I would uninstall it and use
whatever codecs Windows has for sound. Or you can buy a
soundcard if you have some extra money. Wal-Mart sells
the basic Creative ones for under $30.
