MCE Will not detect Digital Channels

I have a HP Pavilion A1520N Computer with XP MCE and
all the latest upgrades.
About a month ago the Program Guide started to acting up.
When it starts to download it get between 16 to 20% downloaded and
then craps out with an error icon in the task bar.
When I check the guide it gives me a message saying it is still
downloading.
I also noticed another thing that when I do a new setup of my system
it does not seem to find any digital stations.
It lists all the possible analog channels from 2-69, but no digital
stations are listed in the guide.
Is it possible there is a file that might be corrupted.
Is it possible to delete this file and start the setup process over?
I am using an external USB analog/digital tuner.
I have tried this tuner and MCE on another computer and it seems to
work OK.

It claims here, there are a couple software updates for XP MCE. Do you
have those installed ?

There is a newsgroup for mediacenter, but it doesn't have much traffic in it.
At least, not on my server.

There are the Microsoft web forums... That might be another source of info.
The first step, might be discovering where any log entries are going. Notice
that eventually the person here, managed to get a pretty descriptive log.
It shows the download may involve more than just guide data.
