McAfee VirusScan 10.0.27 and Windows Defender (Beta 2)

Hi,

every time Windows Defender starts automatically, McAfee VirusScan is
deactivated. Is this a well-known problem and which can I do?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind Regards

I have been having the same problem for several months, ever since I upgraded
from MS AntiSpyware to Defender. In fact, a virus came in on a SPAM email a
few days ago, and McAfee didn't catch it because it is disabled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am an experienced IT professional, and I have yet to figure this one
out...

I have been experienceing the same problem for several months - ever since MS
automatically updated their AntySpyware Beta 1 to Defender Beta 2 on one of
my PCs. Since that happened, McAfee VirusScan 10.0.27 has been disabled, and
will not enable (although in the McAfee Security Center, it says it's
enabled, the tray icon is black).

I am using the McAfee Security Center that is available as part of Comcast's
security offering.

In fact, a zipped virus came in on a SPAM email just a few days ago, and
McAfee did not catch it on the PC where I have Defender installed. It was
caught by AVG on another machine however (no Defender).

I am an experienced IT professional, and I have yet to be able to figure
this one out - any help would be greatly appreciated.
