I would Like to remove the mcAfee security center so I can install another
But when I try to remove it I get a message that I must first remove remove
all mcAfee componets first. I can see no more mcafee programs unless they are
hidden. Can anyone help so I can take mcAfee off of my computer.

Curiously, I just uninstalled McAfee from my new deep discount Dell laptop, and

1. The add/remove programs entry is ``McAfee Uninstaller''
(I don't want to uninstall the uninstaller, I want to uninstall McAfee, showing
some thoughtlessness that should have been a warning)

2. The uninstallation produces an error, that some components may not have
uninstalled correctly
(So they can't write an ununstaller that actually works)

3. Zone Alarm, quickly installed, as its first firewall violation, reports
mcinfo.exe wants to access the internet.

All of which suggests general incompetence at best.

Norton, on the other hand, contrary to legend, seems to uninstall itself cleanly
these days.

Or deliberately making it difficult to uninstall so there remains a
profitable deal between McAfee and Dell.

I used PC Decrapifier and it worked a treat.)
