McAfee error message

I recently downloaded a McAfee Security Center. I previously had McAfee with
my former ISP (Suddenlink) but recently switched to Embarq DSL. My previous
ISP had discontinued the McAfee monitoring (and fees) so I never re-installed
until this past weekend. Anyway, the dowload progresses but at a certain
point, it stops and the following message keeps popping up every 20 seconds
or so:
McAfee Integrated Security Platform has encountered a problem and need to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
It gives an option to Send Error Report or Don't Send and even when I click
on an option, the message continues to appear.
I have contacted McAfee at least 4 times and have been given at least 4
different "solutions" and was finally told to contact Microsoft. I have
removed & reinstalled and still get the error message.
Can anyone help me as I am about to ask for a refund from McAfee and perhaps
try another antivirus program.
Thanks
PS I am currently using Windows XP SP 2

McAfee has a removal tool that removes all keys to program, get it from
them run it then reboot and try to install again.

Most knowledgeable users here would recommend against installing McAfee
and Norton products. Try asking your question in a McAfee forum?
