I have about 3 weeks before the McAfee virusscan and firewall expire on my
Dell computer. I was considering using AVG and Zone Alarm but was wondering
if it is difficult to uninstall the McAfee software and any problems this
might cause. Any advise please.

Just go to add & remove programs and uninstall it, may go smoothly, may not.
No way to tell until you try it.

You shld be able to uninstall McAfee easily via Add/Remove programs in Ctrl
Panel.

GLuck.

Make sure that you already have AVG and Zone Alarm BEFORE you uninstall McAfee. If you
have broadband, or your system dials up on Startup: unplug your DSL or cable Modem, or
phone line. Uninstall McAfee, then reboot, then install AVG (opt not to update or scan
right now because you will not be online to update and you would want to scan AFTER you
updated your definitions), reboot, then install Zone Alarm. Then reboot and plug back in
the cables that you unplugged. I have been using the free version of AVG, and Zone Alarm
Standard (also free) for more than 3 years, and have not had any infections/hijacking
etc., or the resource hogging of McAfee or Norton.

Thank you for your replies and advice
