McAfee Problem

Hi guys,
I am trying to uninstall McAfee from my sytem and trying to install Trend
Micro as Antivirus + Firewall. Trend Micro automaticallly asked to remove
MCAfee and when I finished, it asked to restart.
After restart McAfee opens a screen for continuing the uninstall and giving
a check box selection of McAfee security centre and remove button at the
bottom. Some how this option cannot be selected as it also says Legacy
programs must be un installed first. Now there is no other programs or
installer/un installer. Can some one help me please as because of McAfee's
selfishness My PC is at risk. I think it is already under attacked as
internet speed has gone down extremley low and it has start acting funny.
Please advise how to remove McAfee ?

you can try all that Malke informed you about. I had the same problem
and none of them worked. Hopefully they do for you. I resorted to going
into regedit using Edit>find entered Mcafee in the search field, then
starting with only the Data box checked deleted everything it found.
After deleting what it found one time tell it to find next and continue
with this until it is finished searching the registry. Then start ovet
with values checked and do the same thing. Then do it with keys checked.
You will have to do some of this in safe mode. This was the only way I
was able to get rid of McAfee. If you don't feel safe messing with the
registry, find someone who is before you mess with it.
