Master Slide - Setting default layout for insertion of new slides

I have a powerpoint 2007 slide Master which has several layouts for slides.

One layout is labeled slide 1 and another slides 2-3 but after I reach
slide 4 new slides are entered using slide 1 format.

How do I change it so that my slide 2-3 is the default for all new slides

I think I may have a solution - it worked for me, hopefully it will work for
you:

1. Open up your Slide Master from the View tab.
2. In the left pane that shows your Slide Master and its associated layouts,
choose the layout that you want to become your default layout.
3. Drag that layout so that it is the third item in the list (it should be
the second option under the top-level Slide Master).
4. Close the Slide Master view.

This worked for me when I made the change to the Slide Master first, and
then started adding slides. If I already had slides in the presentation,
PowerPoint stuck to the previous default slides.

Please let me know if this helps you.
