Mass storage not found with HPT372 RAID controller

I have been trying to install WinXP Pro on a new system
with the following hardware:

MB: Soyo P4I875P Dragon
HD: Maxtor 160 GB
RAID controller: Highpoint HPT372

I have performed the optional install (F6) with the
highpoint third party driver for the RAID controller, but
the install still connect see the HD.

FYI - The HighPoint BIOS Utility is able to find the drive
on the normal bootup.

Any help would me appreciated.

Bret, I have never had luck installing WinXP using one of the Raid
Channels. I have the same Controller on my Motherboard. Use the regular IDE
Channel and then when XP is installed and the Raid drivers are in place then
you can
move over to one of the Raid Channels. That method always works for me.
