SATA RAID Hang with WIN XP Pro

Hi, I have a Silicon Image SATA PCI Card installed in an Intel board. I have
created a raid 0 config between two Maxtor 300GB HDs for a 600GB HD Total.
When I go to install WinXP Pro SP1, I hit F6 and then point windows to my
sillicon image driver for XP on my floppy disk. It then goes on to load the
setup files, however the system hangs at point of the setup where it says
"starting windows," which is right before you can choose to format the Hard
drive, etc. If I don't install the RAID Controller driver, the system will
get past this point but obviously the setup will not see the hard drive. The
Raid controller is a Koutech brand SATA card W/Raid and the chipset is
Sil3112act144. Anyway, any thoughts or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are both drives formatted, they must be first.Achieve that by booting to xp
cd,press F6,select RAID set,then press S specify,select RAID set,select,use
the drivers on floppy, then press enter at next text.Go to recovery, press
enter
for password,then type:DiskPart In DiskPart,delete the partition,create one,
then do the same for other, then press Esc Then type:FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs
Do the same with other but C: should be D: After, type:EXIT Restart
computer,
reboot to xp cd,press F6,then select install xp.

Hey Andrew, thanks for the post, unfortunately, what happens here is the
windows setup hangs when it says "Setup is starting windows"...well Andrew,
as I am typing this, it finally decided to work, I have no idea what the
difference was, but, at any rate, i won't question. Thanks anways for your
help!
