Mark message read - any impact on spam

I use the mark message read option but I'm wondering if, as it opens messages
automatically in the preview pane, it sends back responses to spammers which
might increase my spam problem

go to tools/options/email options/tracking options and check "never send a
response" to internet mail

Opening in the reading pane shouldn't alert any spammers.
