mapping printers and drives based on groups

Is it advisable to use the same script to map printers and drives?

SO far I have created OUs and put computers in there. I then assign the GPO
a script to map to a drive or printer.

Then the user logs in to their computer and gets the drive, GPO settings
etc..

Is this the recommendd way to do it? Or would it be better to create an OU
and put groups in there instead. meaning assign the GPO based on groups
rather than computers.
