I have a dell pc, 512 RAM, 2.8GHZ, and I am on a LAN. I
am mapping a network drive, and I am checking
the "reconnect at login" box when I am doing it. However
when I shut the pc down and restart, the network drive
does not reconnect itself. I have to physically double
click on it to reconnect it. Is there something that I am
missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you may want to create a logon batch to map the drives.

This is an annoying limitation to XP HOME, which I assume you're running.
It will not automatically reconnect to shares.

I have a sample batch file there called "EasyMap" that might help.

I am actually running xp pro

The batch file could still be used as a work around, but you might take a
look at
"Share-level mapped network drives are not connected after you restart your
computer" at

When posting a question to a news group, people can better help you if you
give specific information. Otherwise, we can only give it our best guess.
Exactly what OS version you use, what version(so) on the other workstations
especially the one hosting the share, etc. It makes a big difference on
this type of issue.
