mapping a network drive

I am running window 2000 pro and would like to save files
on my unix server. I was told to "map a drive" to the
server. I went to "my computer" and "map a network drive"
but drives A thru Z came up. Does it matter which letter I
use a a drive letter? Then what?

You may use any unused drive letter. "N" for "Network" might be a good one
if it isn't already in use. After you choose a drive letter, hit the
"Browse" button and locate and click on the network share you want to save
your files to. If you want to have that drive letter available all day,
every day, then put a checkmark in the "Reconnect at logon" checkbox.
