Mapping a network drive & remembering passwords

When I connect to my work network with VPN and map drives, I do not get the checkboxes to remember my password and not ask for it again. I was told windows xp should have these checkboxes but I do not see them.

Check this:

- Make sure the "Security Accounts Manager" service is started under
Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services

- Make sure "Network Access: Do not allow storage of credentials or
..NET Passports for network authentication" is disabled under Start
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy >
Security Setting > Local Policies > Security Options


I almost have the same problem as you, expect that my problem is that
the "Remember my password" doesn't work.

Go to: Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security

Find this line: "Network Access: Do not allow storage of credentials
or .NET Passports for network authentication"

Make sure it's disable.
