mapped drives disconnecting

One of our xp pro workstations is connected to our small
network, this one has a mapped connection to the drive on
the server (same as others on the network)which is
disconnected for no reason. Power settings are at minimal
only turning off monitor & hard drive is set to never, no
standby either. We have found a knowledge base article
some time ago that directed us to the registry to adjust
the value in the hkey_local
machine_\system\service\lanmanserver\paramaters\autodiscon
nect to increase the value...which we have done to all
our workstations & has eliminated mapped disconnections,
but this one continues to disconnect after it goes idle
during the night. Odd part is when you go to my computer
the mapped drive shows connected, no red X...if you click
on it after a few minutes xp message box advises an error
occured while reconnecting & has not been restored!?
Any help for what else we can do short of rebooting every
day (only cure so far)would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you in advance for your help & cooperation!

This is a common problem, but you must provide a critical
piece of information... what operating system is on your
server, and what have you done to the server recently...
software/hardware upgrades????
