Mapped drive

I mapped a drive, call it "G:" to a folder on my server. Later, I plugged in
my memory stick, and it got assigned the drive letter "G:", but "G:" still
shows up in My Computer as the mapped drive. I have tries repeatedly to
disconnect the drive, but it will not allow me. When I double click on it,
it does show the memory stick contents, not the mapped drive. How can I get
rid of the old mapping?

Thanks.

Unplug the memory stick, reboot, then un-map the network drive. Also happens
with USB CD-RW drives, I think it has something to do with "how on first",
because sometimes I noticed; using also a memory stick; that sometimes the
network drive gets the letter, other times the stick.
