i've mapped a network drive that was created using "login as a diff user
option". it works fine when I created it but i have to reenter the login on
every session. why doesnt this XP Home SP2 REMEMBER the login for this
mapped drive?

thanks,

By design, XP Home does not cache credentials. If this is important to
you, upgrade to XP Pro.

Also worth pointing out that saved credentials are very poor security. The
encryption on these has been cracked, and there are plenty of utilities out
there which will reveal the stored passwords.

In general it's better to have a consistent user-logon, and a logon-script
to connect the drives. That avoids the need to cache passwords.
