Many problems with Windows mail

Hello, I will be very happy if I can find a solution to all these problems. I
spent all day reading other people's issues and didn't help.
I bought a new desktop and I have windows mail in it. I also have a laptop
where I am using windows mail in it. I am trying to move all my emails and
contacts from windows mail in my laptop to Windows mail in the new desktop.
I set up the account and I am able to send emails from windows mail in the
new desktop but not receive. I receive emails to the windows mail in the
laptop.
Also, I get a log on pop up window all the time in the new windows mail.
I tried using the export/import option and I am only getting the deleted
items emails.
I learned that Norton and mcafee are not compatible with windows vista so I
deleted the accoutn and unistalled Norton and created it again. Still cannot
receive emails to the new windows mail, I get them in the windows mail in my
laptop.
How can I log off the windows mail in my laptop so I can be able to use the
one in my new pc. Also any help in retrieving all my contacts and emails.
Thank you

Select the account and click Properties.
On the Advance tab tell it to leave a copy on the server AND to delete it
after # days.

Do this on both machines.
