Many instances of the same program open

When I click to open Internet Explorer. When I click to open it, it opens
it over 50+ times !!
What is causing this? And how can I prevent it?

More than likely Spyware

It is a good idea to run these programs in safe mode. Instructions for Safe

Also in XP turn OFF System Restore:
Right click My Computer > go to properties > on the System Restore Tab >
check Turn Off System Restore on all Drives, Reboot. You can enable System
Restore once you have clean up all the Sypware.

I am using AVG (paid, current updates), spybot 1.3, Adaware. Nothing showing
up in any of those scans to suggest virus. Any other suggestions?
