Manually Uninstall IE 6.0

On Windows 2000 Professional version, IE 6.0 freezes, or pops up multiple
windows automatically.

"Add/Remove program" does not work. I can not replace/delete "IE" foder in
Program Files.

IE installer fails (the error message "Setup was unable to install all the
components. Please close all applications and try running Setup again." comes
up although there are no applications open).

How can I manually uninstall IE 6.0?

Is this a sudden, new problem or one of longstanding?

If your problems (whatever they may be) are caused by hijackware,
uninstalling/reinstalling IE won't help: Hijackware infects the Operating
System, not the browser.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
