Manually remove Hotfix 811493

The installation of Hotfix 811493 destabilizes my
machine, probably due to interaction with the real-time
features of my anti-virus program.

I used to remove the Hotfix manually, or decline to
install it, but it seems that one of the recent
cumulative patches includes 811493 by default, and I
don't have an option to remove it.

Can someone direct me to instructions for its manual
removal?

You probably installed it as part of the roll-up package. Try going to
Windows Update catalog, downloading it separately, and installing it again.
This SHOULD (!) make it show up in Add and Remove programs, and then you can
uninstall it. I did this once before, with the old version of this patch and
it worked....

The recent roll-up 826939 covers the same matter, but with later,
updated files, and ought not to cause the trouble - indeed if installed
over 811493 it ought to cure them
