Should I go XP SP1a or SP3 in light of 811493

Gang,
I still see posts regarding fix #811493 which don't look too good. If I
buy SP3 of XP will this "feature" already be in it and hard to remove? Or
should I just get SP1a and don't install 811493???

Thanks

Your right! Thanks, I was looking at Windows 2000 SP3 and didn't even
realize it.

There is an SP3 for Windows 2000, but not for Windows XP. 811493 really ought to be installed, as it is a Security Update:

It is one though that is only really important in a corporate situation,
where they have to guard against disaffected employees using the
vulnerability to get themselves admin rights.

It gave trouble initially. A new version appeared to be OK; that is
included in the general security roll-up, 823980
