Manually assigning IP address

Hi,
I went to boot my computer today only to find it is totally and utterly fried.

The only thing that I can do is run a cmd prompt on my machine.

I would just like to dump all of my files to another computer, but I cannot
get an IP address using Ipconfig.

What I would like to do is just disable DHCP in my router and just use
static routes.

I know that you can assign a network connection an IP address/dns
server/default gateway from the network connections page, but I am looking
for a way to do it from the command prompt (since I can't launch the network
connection page to do it there).

Thank you for any help you can offer
Bob.

You can use netsh from the command prompt to set an IP, have a loo at the
links on this page: http://www.google.com/search?q=ip+address+netsh - one
of them should point you in the right direction.
