Manual WINS Registration? (Not a Statis Entry...)

We have some software that Notifies our Remote Tech Support users of Items
in the Queue via a Net Send to the Username.

The problem is that when they connect from home via VPN, the WINS DB does
not always get the right IP Address for them. Sometimes it gets renewed with
the new Address, sometimes it does not.

Is there a way to force an update to the WINS Server of the current logged
in user??

I think that the following command should do the trick.

nbtstat -RR

I think it only refreshed the Machine name. I also need to refresh the User
name in the WINS.

Does the nbtstat -RR refresh the username too?

I wondered the same thing. The /? was non-specific, but looking back, it
doesn't refer to users anywhere.

I'm not really sure how you'd go about doing this, to be honest. I'll post
back if I find anything.
