Is it possible to update Mcafee version 8 Manually
by downloading the dats from their web site ?

They only seem to work with version 7 or below ?
 
That's right.

McAfee VirusScan v8.0 Home Edition does not work with SuperDATs.

However, there is a truly Manual Process. Download the McAfee ZIP file form either the web
site or FTP site. Disable the VirusScan software then open the ZIP file and extract the DAT
files to the following directory..

C:\Program Files\McAfee.Com\VSO
