Manual envelope printing

I would like to activate my printer at the printer itself when printing
envelopes (as opposed to going to the printer, inserting the envelope, then
running back to the computer to start the printing).

My last PC was set up this way and I can't find the feature to change to
local printing. I used to hit print on the computer then go to the printer
which was blinking. I would then insert an envelope and press the printer
button for it to start printing. I use an HP laserjet 6P but can't find the
setting in there either.

If you set the tray to Manual Feed, then you'll have to push a button the
printer to feed it. If you're using Tools | Letters and Mailings | Envelopes
and Labels to create envelopes, the setting is in Envelope Options |
Printing Options. If you have an envelope template, then find the setting at
File | Page Setup | Paper.

Thank you Suzanne. In the print options (envelopes and labels) it is already
set to Manual Feed. In the page setup under file, there are 2 places to
select manual feed. But I only want the envelopes to use manual feed. And I
can't seem to make this happen. Any other ideas are appreciated.
Thanks again,
David

Sounds like Word and your printer are not communicating, and that may be a
printer issue. Sorry. I'll cross-post this to
microsoft.public.word.printingfonts in hopes that someone there may have
more ideas.
