Manual archive

I have a user on a WinXP machine running Outlook 2000
(sp3). We are running under Exchange 2000. She has several
folders created under her cabinet, of course with items in
each. I explained the process to manually archive folder
by folder, because that's the way she wanted to do it. She
was able to archive some folders, but now she is not able
to archive anything from the cabinet folders. I checked
the size of the archive.pst file, and it's 64Mb. When she
attempts to archive a folder, a message appears in the
lower right corner that says, archiving. Once the message
is gone, nothing else happens and no e-mail is archived. I
also checked the dates of the e-mail, and all fit the date
range to archive. Any ideas?

I assume you mean she was using the Archive feature from the File menu to
move the items, rather than dragging and dropping the items herself --
correct? If so, check the Modified date on the items that aren't being
archived as you think they should. That's the date Outlook uses to
determine whether or not an item is ready to be AutoArchived (it applies to
the "manual" Archive feature also), and a simple action such as moving the
item to another folder can change the Modified date. More information and a
list of actions that change the Modified date can be found here:
