Mandatory profiles on standalone w200o professional

A client of mine had many standalone W2000 profesional
machines with a number of active users per machine, and
wants to know if profiles can be prevented from being
changed by the users i.e mandatory. There is no domain. I
have tried this but renaming ntuser.dat to ntuser.man
locally seems to have no effect and users can still
modify their own profiles, any ideas??

If you set up a share on the local machine and set the profile path to
\\localhost\profiles\%username% then using ntuser.man should work.

Remember to set the file/share permissions securely.
