Managing member server

Faisal

Dear all,

We have added a win2000 SP4 member server to the domain. When we try
to manage the member server from domain controller, it says 'Computer
cannot be managed. Network path was not found'. Ping is successful,
but '\\IP address' gives 'remote computer is not available'.

What needs to be done to manage/access member server from domain
controller?

I will be grateful for your help.

In addition to Simon's suggestion, I'm thinking the problem is a name
resolution problem. Can you ping by name??

If so, what is the node type of the 2 servers (ipconfig /all). W/o name
servers (DNS or WINS), NetBT (NetBIOS over TCP/IP) needs to be enabled
on both machines and the node type of both machines has to be at least
hybrid.
