Malware - Virtual Bouncer

My Granddaughter's computer got infected with 'Virtual Bouncer'.. We
attempted to
use the many ways suggested to remove this Adware but have been
unsuccessful.. The
worm doesn't allow us to access the OS, even when we use SafeMode..

There isn't enough time to use the removal tools or gain access to the
Registry to
remove some of the run commands for this 'program'..

We tried to run AntiSpyware but it won't let us open the scan...

Does anyone have any suggestions short of Formatting the C:\ drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Does Microsoft's AntiSpyware find and clean this infection?

Thanks..

If you can't run Windows in normal mode, you won't be able to install
Microsoft Antispyware to find out. There's no published list of what is and
isn't cleaned/detected.

If you are in the United States or Canada, you can call 1-866-pcsafety for
free help with virus removal or security patch issues. In other parts of
the world, the same help is available but the call may not be free--call
your local Microsoft subsidiary or the number for paid support, and ask for
the free help with virus or security patch issues.

Thank you both for your input.. Can't access the system so guess we'll
have to format.. :(

Too bad they can't make a law making this type of extortion illegal..
The company that is doing this is located in Hawaii.. ??

A repair install would be a better option but whether this is available to
you depends on the type of installation media supplied with your machine.
Microsoft's pss folks should be able to determine this for you.
