making xp run as the main operating system

I originally had windows 98 as my main operating system,
then I load xp professional. Now I can run the programs
that is under xp, but xp does not act as the main
operating system. How can I get xp to run as the
operating system? thanks
 
Do you mean that you are dual booting?
Have you removed Windows 98, upgraded it to XP or simply loaded XP on a
blank partition?
