Hi,
I also have the same problem, i downloaded itunes, which became the default
player for videos. I did as you have suggested which made no difference,
itunes/quicktime was the default player. If i right clicked on the video and
selected properties then selected 'change opens with' then selected windows
media player, media player would play my video but in very poor quality ie
normal voice but very fast picture (like watching the video in fast forward).
I assume that converting the video to be watched by quicktime to windows
media player somehow corrupts the video or at least makes the videop
unsuitable to be viewed by quicktime. I went into quicktime to try and turn
the reading video button off but it would not allow me. In the end i removed
itunes and quicktime from my computer, then reinstalled quicktime, got more
video footage put card into reader and once again it come up as quicktime
even though i ensured the windows media player file types were all selected.
When i change the properties to open with windows media player even the icon
now looks all fuzzy. I have no idea what is going on eccept that windows
media player now seems to be unable to play my videos to a satisfactory
standard. Can anyone help me please.
Thankyou
