Make Folder Private

I am having trouble making a local folder private on my
home PC running WinXP Pro. The folder is on a large drive I
added recently. I want ONLY myself to see and access the
folder. Since I couldn't find settings that work, I
disabled simple file sharing. Now I've found the DENY
setting, but if I DENY for USERS then I can't access the
folder myself. I am missing something. What is it?

Do not deny. Rather only grant to the desired accounts.
For example, if your account is Don, then grant full control
to Don and remove all other grants.

Thanks! I tussled a bit with inherited rights but
eventually followed your recommendation with good success.
