make a text link to the next slide?

How can I place a link on a slide labeled "Next" that onlcick goes to the
next slide?

Create the textbox. Then, right click on the border of the textbox.
Select Action Settings.
Select "Hyperlink to:".
Next Slide should be the default.
Click Ok.

After applying the link, PPT changes the color of the link before it is
clicked
and afterward. How can I set the link color displayed before and after it is
clicked?

Select the text box itself rather than the text within it.
Click inside the box then press ESC.
Now apply the link or use an Action Setting, --Next Slide.
