Major sys malfunction -Win 32 errors

Just started getting several Win 32 errors and now my
system does not function. I can open WIndows but cannot
go online, run sys utilities or most other programs.
Some open but do not function. On start up I get the
following: "C:\windows\system 32\cabchk.exe is not a
valid Win 32 application". I get "rundll32 is not a
valid Win 32 application" when I try to run programs.
Help.

When executables get broken I suspect viral activity, run a full system
scan with both Ad aware www.lavasoftusa.com and up todate AV software.
