Major problem

I'm having a major problem with my computer. I got an
virus, and I've scanned my comp. with all all the
antivirus software I could find. But for some reason when
I startup the comp. I have to click my username to get
into windows ( I never had to before) and I can't open
any files, they all open in Photshop. And when I go to
the Control panel I can only open "adminitrative tools"
normally, everything else opens in Photoshop.
I can open some folders using "run as" command and have
to uncheck the box that says: "Protect my computer and
data from unauthorized activity".
I can't even open "accounts" in Control panel to change
the settings.

So my question is. What in the hell is wrong with my
comp. and how can I fix this?

P.S. I can't even run the "run" command in the start
folder

Hi, if you can still connect to the internet goto this
website.
http://housecall.antivirus.com
most likely the virus has disabled your antivirus software
so taht it will not pick it up. Your only option is to run
an online virus scan and pray they can find the virus.
When the scanner finds the virus write down the full
location to the file, eg. C:\Document and Settings\All
Users\install95.exe something like that.
After you have the path, restart your computer in Windows
Safe Mode(restart normally then tap f8 on your keyboard
till you get the startup menu, choose Windows Safe Mode
should be the first option).
Once your in safe mode browse the the file location and
delete the file. Now some viruses protect themselfs from
this straight approach. you might have to do something
very nasty but it works all of the time. If you cannot
delete it this way do the following.
In safe mode
Start -> Run Type in Notepad Hit OK button.
File -> Open...Browse to the path of the virus
type in *.* that will allow you to see all files. If you
still do not see it, dont fret, just type the name of the
file in the Filename box. then either highlight it or type
it in the filename box and hit Open.
Now in notepad you should see a hole bunch of characters.
Edit -> Select All
After everything is selected hit the delete key
Now there is nothing.
File -> Save...after it is saved.
Browse to the path and delete the 0KB file.
Congrats you removed the virus.
Now Boot back into normal Windows.
I would highly Recommend doing the following.
Start -> Run in the Open box type: sfc /scannow
that will scann all of the windows system files for any
damage or corruption *Note you will need your Windows CD,
Also taht is assuming you are using XP.

IF you need any clearification email me at
(e-mail address removed)

Thank you.

This does indeed sound like a virus,*but*,one thing
sprang to mind as another possiblity.

When you installed Photoshop,I wonder whether you
performed a default installation\allowed Photoshop to
associate itself with every single file it knows how to
open?..

I did this once with C\S.It did not attach itself to .cpl
files though..

What I did to fix this proble was to open Windows in Safe mode and let Spybot scan the hard drive. It worked and I'm not getting this error msg anymore
