In my new Word 2007 everything is doubled space. I like the old document set
up in Word 2003 which is not doubles space or something is not right in the
document that opens up on 2007. How do I change the main document to open and
be formated like I want it formatted?

The normal style is not double spaced. It has 1.15 line spacing and extra
spacing between paragraphs. If you want it unspaced use the normal unspaced
paragraph style, or edit the normal style or you can use the Word 2003 style
set which I believe has a normal style much like the default in Word 2003.

Personally I have a Body Text style which is configured exactly as I want my
ad hoc documents to be formatted and have that applied by default.

This is what worked for me. I think I have single spacing now:

1.On the Home tab click on the dialog box for the paragraph group. The
dialog box is in the lower right-hand corner of the group and looks like a
tiny arrow inside a square.

2. In the "Spacing section," change the Before and After to both be zero.

3. Change the Line Spacing to Single.

4. Click on the Default button at the bottom of the box.

5. Click on OK in the box that pops up.

6. Click OK again to get out of the Paragraph dialog box.

Hope that gives you the spacing you're looking for.
