Mailing from current account

Synapse Syndrome

I have several email accounts. Two Hotmail, two IMAP and four POP3
addresses.

Whenever I press New Mail, whichever account I am in, the email is to be
sent from my default POP3 account. I have to manually choose the account
that I intend to use. Sometimes I may forget to do this. This causes
problems for me as people reply to an account that I am not expecting them
to reply to.

Is there not a way to make the email from address become the account that I
may currently be browsing within?

Outlook Express can do this.

Sorry I haven't described this very eloquently, but I hope this makes sense.

xactly how Outlook is designed to work.

Folders and acounts aren't the same thing. You're not browsing in an
account. You're brosing a set of folders inside a PST. There's no account
information there. While it's true that each IMAP account gets its own
folder set, that doesn't mean those folders _are_ the account.
Outlook Express can do this.

Not really. In Outlook Express you can have "identities" which act in a
fashion similar to Outlook's mail profiles. If you have only one account in
each identity, then you send mail from which ever account is the default for
that identity. However, you can have multiple accounts in one identity and
then you have to choose the sending account, just as you do for Outlook, and
there's only one set of folders for that identity, just like all yoru POP
accounts in Outlook share the same set of default folders.

I understand what you are saying, but in OE, if I am within a folder for any
of my IMAP or Hotmail accounts and I press New Mail, the email will be sent
from that account. It would have been nice if Outlook could have done this
too, but it is not that important.
