Mail stuck sending not in outbox

At work I am behind an Exchange server that won't let me reply (relay) to an
outside POP mail account that I recieve in Outlook with the Exchange mail.
When I get an email from the POP account and reply (accedentally) it normally
fails and is put in the outbox where I can delete it and send it via the
Exchange server. I have 2 messages that did not go to the outbox and are
trying to be sent at every send/recieve I do. If I delete the POP account
they are gone. When I rebuild the account they start trying to send again.
The error is a timeout waiting for a response from the server. Where are
these emails and how do I get this fixed.
Thanks

Click File and check Work Offline. Stop and restart Outlook. YOu should
now be able to delete the messages. CLick File and uncheck Work Offline.

The problem is I don't see them. They are not in the outbox or
drafts folders. The only thing I see is the sending 1 of 2 then it
fails. Thanks
