I'm on a new Exchange 2003 server and for some reason my mail sits in the
Outbox for about a minute or until I hit F9. I have "Send Imediately When
Connected selected"

Any thoughts?

What version/SP of Outlook? If you're on 2003, using cached mode?
What client OS version, and is there a personal firewall installed/enabled?
Anyone else having this problem?

I had never thought about the firewall. Sure enough. With it off mail comes
in faster and leaves my outbox right away. Thanks!

Glad to hear it, but note that unless your network is protected at the
perimeter by a good firewall/proxy server, you should not disable any
firewall outright - just open up the requisite ports for web browsing &
email. It takes only nanoseconds of being online without a firewall in place
to get hacked/infected/whatnot.
