Mail merge addresses

I did this back in December to send holiday postcards to my customers, but
now it doesn't seem to be working the same way!

I remember that I couldn't get the mail merge to work from Word (the
database fields don't map right). I also know that I can't initiate the
merge from BCM, because it's not an option.

I believe what I did the first time is, I copied the BCM contacts back over
to my regular contacts and did the mail merge from there.

However, when I tried that this time, it blobbed all the contacts together
(what a mess!) so that my personal contacts were indistinguishable from the
BCM contacts. I thought it would let me sort by Category, which is how I
generally keep my BCM contacts arranged, but for some reason I am getting an
error message "can't sort..." So I had to individually delete the copied BCM
contacts out of my personal contact list. :-(

And now I'm back to square one. Anyone got a solution for this? All I want
to do is send an announcement postcard to my contacts about a new website
I'm opening up - and I REALLY don't want to hand-address each postcard!

Thank you!

Never mind. I figured it out.

Initiate the merge from BCM - with the individual contacts, not the group,
selected - and THEN re-start the merge from Word.

Very weird!
