Mail is not sent

Hi, have Vista and Windows mail for about 3 weeks now. No problems with
normal pop3 and smtp account until yesterday. After pressing "send" on a
forward or new message, the task box shows that a connection is made but the
out-arrow is not "blinking" and nothing happens until it times out.

I am on (a)dsl, and another pc (using xp) on the same router has no problems
sending mail. Have disabled email scanning by Norton. Have used the utility
listed in the questions to completely reset Windows Mail.

Still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Just to report back on my own message that I have resolved the issue.
Somewhere on the list there was the suggestion to change the port for smtp to
587. This solved the problem, although it still mistifies me why it would
work fine for three weeks and then stop working completely.

You never said who your ISP is. The UK ISP 'BT' had this
issue recently. It only affected Vista computers.
