Macro creation

I am working with a database and I want to be able to have a form letter
populated by my Access fields. I was able to do this with a report but then
you cannot make any changes to it.

My idea world would be to create a macro that would open a letter that I
have in Word and use it to create the letter. I have been working with the
OpenApp and cannot get it to work. I have Access 2003 does anyone know how to
do this?
