Mac OS 9.2 & Win2k3 server / UAM Volume Locked

Jason Buzzell

We have a mac configured on our windows 2003 domain, and
while we can access the server and the folders in the UAM
folder, when we try and push a file to the server we get
an error message: "You cannot copy shared files to shared
microsoft UAM volume because the disk is locked." We have
checked all the parent and child folder settings and the
appropriate users have full control to the files. Any
thoughts?

SFM Volume Security is set to read-only. This setting is found on the share
in computer management under the General tab. It is on by default on
Windows Server 2003 Macintosh shares and the MS UAM Volume. I would
recommend creating another Macintosh share and leaving the MS UAM volume
read-only.
